With the televised execution of US soldiers, is CNN actually aiding and abetting the enemy and terrorists? If Ted turner or any of the Clintons is murdered execution style, will CNN regale with the same glee and satisfaction?

Are they just trying to demoralize the American public with the sensationalism?

How much did they pay for the footage?

Please confine your commentary and answers to the subject at hand: The footage CNN played of the US soldier being executed.

Yes, a free press is part and parcel of the liberty we enjoy, but CNN could be working counterproductive to our best interests. If someone asked me if they should show a bullet percing the skull of one of someone serving me with his or her life, no matter what the situation, I would decline. This is a matter of the lack of faithfulness on the CNN to the values of the United States..

The say "Hey, it's OK, because we didn't show the dead guy's face."Big Friggin Deal! CNN was wrong, and should be removed from warfront coverage.

there is freedom of the press, but that doesnt make what they say american. the reason for these rights is so we can disagree with the government. but i think CNN takes it too far. showing executions freely without consent of the soldiers families they are helping the terrorists get their videos out to instill fear and upset the American people. They are undermining America and therefore are unAmerican.

Good news about CNN from Europe - as a conservative I was delighted when I tuned in while in Prague on business. CNN showed some clips of American troops helping out a poor Iraqi kid with a skin rash, and the kid's dad came by and thanked them for the help. The Americans were young looking, 20 to 25, and not acting like "imperialist pigs" as we are commonly portrayed. If we can get more of this balance, I think CNN can get back on top in the ratings, but this was in EUROPE, did we see this in America? I don't know.

CNN is anti-intelligence. They think that the American public is so stupid that we do not know what goes on in war. They believe that it is a necessity to show things like that. Without regard to the fact that the brave soldier was possibly someones son, father, brother, etc. They think of it as a way to make a point about the war and show their slanted and bias news coverage. This irrational move by CNN and like most news media they have a political agenda to stick to. I have watched CNN for many years but I will never watch them again. I think CNN reporters being banned from being in Iraq would be of little concern. I am sure they have contacts to purchase other such video from people already there.

You're missing the point of media. It may be unpleasant, but I can tell you it will be lot worse if gov becomes free to hide and manipulate its citizens and their minds through tight control of media. Our best interest to have government that is transparent and honest and not give gov free pass to do whatever the hell it wants to do. Bush administration praised NYT for covering prewar intelligence for making case against war. They're angry when NYT reports prison abuse and leak of classified info that ambrass the administration. NYT and others are not there to help gov, but serve public who may or may not agree with its gov. Nobody wants to see US soldiers die, but I can tell you people will be more upset if someone told them every thing is fine when thousands of soldiers are dying and losing limbs.

They show graphic news footage on news in other parts of the world because it's real and true and their public deserves to see what's going on. We're the Ones being shielded from whats happening out there. we only see what we're told to see and remain in an ignorant state.

You certainly have your agenda, don't you? The press has the responsibility to report the realities of war; particularly if the administration refuses to admit them.
Do you think that it honors our dead servicemen for the Bush administration to censor coverage of their return in coffins to the US? They are heroes; not vermin to be embarrassed and hidden.

who has the sensationalism? everyone. is CNN un-american just because they show different views than some other station? lately it is awfully fashionable to call someone or something un-american just because they don't believe in the same things you do or support everything that america does--did you ever think it's because they care?

Yes, they are anti-American. It doesn't make sense that they are since the U.S. has the most free press in the world, but they hate America anyway.
