I am an Indian American (from east India) and am looking at a job opp in Dallas. Are the people there very biased towards darker skinned people? I am in Austin right now and here the people are quite decent. Are people in Dallas nasty and racist? I am kinda worried...any minorities have some experiences to share about Dallas?

I don't think so. My experience living in Dallas is that people are in general prolite and friendly. Plus given that Dallas is one of the largest telecommunication industry in the country, there are big Indian and Asian communities already.

Best wishes.

What makes you think a particular "place" would harbor prejudice? Are you looking for reasons not to take the job?

The color of your skin has nothing to do with it, but rather the color "under" your skin. If you are honest, responsible, capable, will take awhile to find out, but if you are educated, people tend to cut you some slack; you've already demonstrated a work ethic and have your priorities in order.

Relax, chill. You're driving yourself nuts over a "what if?" It's almost insulting to suspect someone without reason.

No some of them are dead. The real answer is there are racists & people who don't like outsiders everywhere & of every color, just don't become one of them.
