I'm not a very talkative person. Most times i just sit and listen. I've noticed alot of people tend to be wary of me because I'm quiet. I understand my appearance might play a role, after all give me a hockey mask and cover alls and I can play jason vorehees no problem, but even with people I know, if i stop talking they freak out!

When somebody only listens...and they dont voice their thoughts it puts others on the defensive because they do not know what you are thinking.
You may not be thinking anything buut unfortunately the human being does not think on those lines.
Just be you.

Yeah, I get that a lot [heck from since 5th grade when one of my classmates told me 'the quiet ones are usually the craziest'].
It puts people on edge because they have no idea what you're thinking.. good or bad. They compare it to psychotic serial killers who tend to be quiet. Even my boyfriend finds it weird because he's accustomed to more talkative females.. it makes you seem less 'open,'..and less friendly to strangers.
Most are surprised to know that I'm not psychotic after they've chatted with me a while.. but the quietness puts them off.

I don't know. I'm extremely quiet. I don't mind when people ignore me, but when they don't it drives me crazy. People always ask the idiotic question of "Why do you never talk?" That drives me crazy. It's sheer ignorance. They always think something is emotionally or pshologically wrong with you. But I guess people can't help it, they just aren't quiet and automatically assume that everybody else is just as outgoing. I'm also told that I'm too quiet. Oftentimes I have alot to say. People rarely understand what I'm saying when I do talk to them. I guess it makes them think too much, hurts their brains. :) people put my image and what they know of my personality (which is nothing but that i'm quiet) and come up with bad results. But they soon forget about me anyways. So I guess it's not that bad being the quiet one.
I could be crazy, but then again, crazy people really don't KNOW thier crazy. That's part of why their crazy. Most outgoing people that think quiet people are crazy, are probably crazy themselves, they just don't know, which makes them crazier. Ha. crazy and ignorant.

well quiet ppl dont freak me out. but quiet ppl tend to b killers jk lol. u should b who u r and not worry about others. its good to talk to ppl and let things off ur chest. its good to listen to because then u r there 4 some1 like if its somethin thats been botherin them awhile then u could b there to listen and help them wit the problem. as u can c im a talkitive type:) hope this helps u a bit.

Maybe they think you're offended or something, or possibly they feel uncomfortable. I'm quiet to, sometimes, but when people stop talking I find my self searching for something to say, anything that will break the silence and return the conversation the its previous state.

I am a quiet person too and people think that if you are quiet you could be planning to do something destructive
People just think that quiet people are crazy, but I know that I am not crazy

I have a couple quiet friends and it's kinda like just talking to yourself because they don't respond and I think it's kind of rude cuz I don't know their opinion and I like to argue with people on veiws so it's not as fun. It really is like your talking to yourself and you think, "why do I even bother talking?"

they always say beware of the quiet ones. I think it is mainly because no one knows what you are thinking and it worries them not knowing.
