Weeeelll... one thing, is that the skin and hair on your face (i'm assuming you're a guy) is very different from any hair that women get rid of.
EG. you wouldn't think of shaving against the direction the hair grows on your face, but that's how we shave our legs.
I would recommend sensitive skin formulas in shave gels (always gels, those creams and foams are crappy!)
There is a good kind I found for bikini lines, it's called Bikini Zone, and, it has some topical ana... ana... well, some skin numbing agents, which, evidently keep the skin from getting irritated whie you're shaving. I dunno, maybe pubes are like facial hair?

Three things. Lubricate. Lubricate. Lubricate. Well, four things. Glide the razor along your skin softly. Razor burn comes from shaving too close and not enough lubrication.
