I'm trying to sell my old computer and I have no idea what my old password is.

How do you reset this? I think it has something to do with restarting in safe mode or something.

Now, if it has the Pro version you can easily change the password by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del twice, which brings up the classic logon screen. Type in Administrator and click enter without putting the password in. Most users never put a password on the built in administrator account, so it does not have a password. Then just do the above steps and you will have it fixed. If you did set a password for the admin account you are messed up even in safe mode as you will be required to remember it. Bummer!

There is a way to recover or reset the admin password. It entails going into the casing and resetting it there. I suggest you take it to a repair shop and have them do it for you.
