Get to the top of the class by acting like another arrogant wanker. They love having proteges. And if they don't, you can always say "I was just trying to be like YOU!"

Some acting teachers are arrogant. I learned a lot from an acting teacher who was quite a jerk at times. Play the game, do what you're supposed to do, and take something away from the experience. It's not about being infatuated with your teacher.

If you really feel this way, then leave and find another.

But if you want to get anywhere in the industry you will have to toughen up - you will meet plenty more like him/her as you go on - and many of them will hold the key to your success - or at least being able to pay the rent that month.

If this is just a school or college lesson - just deal with it as sweetly as you can... it is character forming! And DON'T EVER let anyone make you push your buttons... be in control. Which could well be the most valuable acting lesson of all!

REMEMBER THAT S/HE DOESN'T MAKE YOU ANGRY OR UPSET - YOU DO. You are the only person inside your head! You are in charge of how you feel and how you react. And if you can keep that control, anytime you want to draw on this as a resource for a character you will be quids in!

Realise all of this - and then just laugh inside at him/her when s/he gets all full of him/herself. It is better for your acting - and your blood pressure!

Take all he has to teach you and then move on. This will pass. In the
meanwhile realize that learning all you can is reason you are studying.
98% of all the people in the world are wankers. At least you won't have
to deal with this one for the rest of your life.

First, realize that you are the sutdent, and the teacher is the teacher. There are a lot more students than teachers, so you need him more than he needs you. So, suck it up, and learn everything you can. Then move on and become a smash success someplace. And don't thank him when you win your Oscar.

Go through the awful reality acting as gracefully as you can. And hate your teacher from a prudential distance.

just don't take him seriously. when he is being arrogant, laugh as though you think he's making a joke. chances are he is fairly insecure if he is that arrogant, and not pandering to his silly ways will unsettle him and hopefully make him realise how immature he is. good luck!

If you can (ie you pay privately for your lessons) find another one.

I had a singing teacher like this who used to bully me and be totally obnoxious - laugh at my mistakes etc. It damaged my confidence badly. I found another teacher.

If its your college tutor and you can't change then just try not to let it get to you. Its their problem, not yours.
