I was just a kid when i saw it and it was much better than this one...

Actually, the original was also called "Night Stalker." See http://imdb.com/title/tt0067490/ .

And it was Darren McGavin, not Telly Savalas. Telly Savalas played Kojak.

was it Kolchak or Kogac. I barely remember it. Telly Savalis played him.

Yes the orginial show was much better than this knockoff.
