I would say Big Phil Scolari, personally. But the English FA foolishly released the name to the media before the World Cup had started (even though it was known that Portugal and England were likely to face one another), which totally freaked the poor man out.

It is not about the manager, look at Greece in the Euro Champs that time !!

I'd say a trio of Prem Managers would be the call, but who??

All of us crave success, and wouldn't mind playing attractive football in the process. For that to happen we need a manager who is capable of transforming brilliant individuals in their own-rights into an organised world beating team. The players need to truly believe in themselves and the team, not merely imagining greatness, but creating it. In my opinion one man stands out above any other - Arsene Wenger.

you would be having none of it, but the only manager who could possibly win something for a average England side is a scotsman sir Alex Fergusson, but i dont think he would be having none of that either, lol, but he is the best manager out there.

Most obvious - Harry Redknapp.
Most talented but will never be considered - Dave Jones
Waiting in the wings? - Dennis Wise
But isn't it high time that there should be a black manager in the running?

Martin O'Neill should have been the choice. He's made an improvement at Villa so England would have been a doddle!

hehe, nice question. although im sorry to tell you that it doesnt matter who the manager is, the team are too arrogant to work together and play well (or fairly), so theres no hope of yous winning the world cup! there are far better teams around.
