Read so much. The best are Kiss of the Spiderwoman-Manuel Puig. Frankenstein-Mary Shelley. Anything by Oscar Wilde. Germinal-Emile Zola. The Awakening-Kate Chopin. Read Eleven Minutes recently but can't remember the authors name..... That is going to keep me awake! Jane Austen is very clever in the way she understands the class system of 19th century Britain.

The Ballad of Lee Cotton by Christopher Wilson was my most recent read but can recommend anything by Alexander McCall Smith (especially No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series)

Enjoy!

One of my all time fav books is Bless the Child by Cathy Cash Spellman, its brilliant you have to get it!!! Alot of Graham Masterton books are excellent, particularly Dream Warriors, Ritual and Walkers. Shaun Hutson and Dean Koontz are very good aswell, they are in the same genre as Stephen King.

that is such a gd question!

harry potter 6 because i love getting lost in an alternate reality,
mortal engines (sorry ive forgotten the author) which is so different from most stuff you find, its about the future, when theres no sea, and cities are built on wheels and 'eat' each other... theres also a love story too...
a year in the merde and merde actually - semi-autobiographical books about a guy whos job moves to paris, this is laugh-out-loud dont-read-on-the-tube- for-fear-of-embarrassing-noises funny! and even better if you have a basic grasp of french and have been to france :)
also my alevel spanish set text was very interesting for me - federico garcia lorca (renowned poet and playwright killed by franco in the spanish civil war)'s 'yerma' about a barren woman desperate for kids.

:)

I have read loads of great books this year but the last great one was "We need to talk about Kevin", absolutely brilliant. I only finished it 3 weeks ago but am already planning to re-read it.

Motor gun boat 658 by LAC Reynolds.
Its the story of the small boat war in the med in the late part of ww2. Its a really good read if a bit hard at times.
