why bother,
just enjoy life as it is, accept it with wonders and defaults, whatever it is - it is.... no need to fight it, embrace it...

the sooner this myth that homosexuality can be cured the better, the real cure that's needed is one that rids the world of Bigots & Homophobes. If there was a cure then I for one wouldnt want it. I like being who & what I am, Im just as nature intended me to be.

My sexual orientation is now more straight leaning than it was two years ago when I identified as a 6 on the Kinsey Scale. During that time, I've had a gradual transition to a 2 or 3, and my attraction to guys is continuing to decline. None of this was the result of reparative therapy. I feel that it was the result of dealing with personal issues both of a psychological and medical nature. Whether these changes are some "temporary phase" or something more permanent remains to be seen.
I don't feel homosexuality itself is a disease. In my case, it may have seemed like a disease (after reading the above) but I was probably never homosexual to begin with. During the past two years, I considered myself bisexual, but only time will tell....
I continue to challenge homophobia when it occurs.

The only people that I believe could change their sexuality are people who are faced with sexual confusion.People like Exodus International have given false and inflated statistics in order to serve their political and religious agendas that suggest that homosexuality is a choice and curable. The hard truth is that once a person settles into their sexuality and becomes secure in the knowledge of who they are, there is no cure.

I agree that homosexuality is not a disease...and you can't cure what is not a disease. so-called "reparative" or "conversion" therapy was created by homophobes to "brainwash" homosexuals into becoming straight. perhaps if you've been raised all your life being taught that it's a sin and to be ashamed and you have little self-esteem, you might be weak enough to fall for this b.s., but that's all it is. I've even heard of gay teens being taken against their will to these so-called camps where they try to convert them...and heard their tales of the abuse that occurs there. you cannot change your sexual orientation any more than you can change your skin or eye color or your height. you cannot change who you innately are. if you fall for this brain-washing, then you're not only lying to yourself, but lying to everyone else.
is that what makes the homophobes happy? we lie to them and to ourselves and pretend to be someone we're not?
sorry...it's a load of homophobic crap!

The idea of "curing" homosexuality came about from Psychiatric Societies listing it as mental disease (right along with masturbating). Having a mental disease myself, I can let you know that therapy is just agreeing to see things as others wish you would. There is no need for a cure to having a healthy, natural sex life with another consenting adult.

I don't believe in that garbage either. That was created for folks who wouldn't accept who they are and are willing to be brainwashed in order to fit into "society". Homosexuality has been around since the dawn of time, and we will continue to be here till the end. So all of the homophobic jerks and so called church folk need to get themselves together and leave the rest of us alone.
'Nuff said.

you should rent a movie called " i'm jsut a cheerleader" it's all about a girl whose parents beleive her to be a lesbian and send her off to camp where she has to get thru these 5 steps in order to be heterosexual...it features gay men as well..it was a good movie..i recomend watching it..truth is ..your right, it's not a disease, it's not something you catch, it's part of you and who "god" made you..don't pretend to be someone you aren't..it's not worth it...i beleive i am bi sexual...i'm a very open minded person and beleive in free love..meaning you fall for someones spirit, regardless to gender..although some will tend to prefer one gender over the other....i myself like being with men...and like the idea of being with a women..haven't experienced that yet...don't know if i will...but bottom line is...it;s who you are..your spirit can't be "cured" into being hetero if you aren't attracted to the opposite sex...good luck:)

its definitely not a disease and you cant cure it. its something that you are born with and its just part of who you are. i dont understand why anyone would want to change themselves that much, they should be proud of the person they are.

I am an exgay and find change problematic. A very small number of exgays get married but most like me choose to live a celibate life. Change in sexual orientaion is almost but not quite unheard of.
