You do not need anything. Only need a icense if you are transporting it or taking to market for selling or slaughter due to foot and mouth regulations

You have to be licenced with DEFRA and have a holding number. You cannot keep just one pig, they need to be in pairs at least. You also have to have a proper livestock trailer to transport it to your home and the breeder has to write out movement licences which you then have to send off to your council. You need to have it wormed and innoculated occasionally too. It really sounds like this is a whim and youhaven't really thought about the logistics of keeping pigs. Even minature pigs are fairly large and will churn up your garden and turn it into stinking mud. For 2 minature pigs, you need a minimum of 1/2 acre. Is your garden this big?

You live in Bristol CT? All you would have to do is go to the town hall and ask about livestock regulations. They will most like tell you to go to a different department in the town hall to talk to someone who deals with that. They might have to see your property, know how much land you have and what kind of pig you want to get....You might want to ask if the pig will have to be registered in that town......Good Luck and I hope I've helped you.
