or are some Tiger fans acting just like Yankee fans and are being just as arrogant about the World Series. They seem to be fitting the Series crown on their heads already. I am a Reds fan and do not really like the Cardinals, but I will not count the Cards out just yet. It will be a better Series than some of you think. Last years World Series was just happen chance when the White Sox were on a roll and the Astros couldn't remember where they were. The Cardinals are a lot better than people think. I wouldn't put it past them to beat the Tigers.

I made my point. I realize it is only game 1, but the Cards are doing what I thought they might do. Of course, maybe the Tigers had too much time off and are a little rusty. It will still be a good Series no matter what.

Georgie - I would be thinking the same way if the Reds were in the World Series. Win or lose, I would be very proud of how far they could have gotten. They were only 80-82, but that is a big improvement.

No, it is NOT your imagination.

Some of them are acting worse than yankee fans. I think those are the bandwagoners.

Us Real fans know that nothing is given, and all of us are just plain happy that The Tigers have made it this far!

No one even expected The Tigers to finish at .500 this year, let alone make the playoffs...let alone beat the 2 best teams in the AL for the championship.

I've said this from the beginning that if St Louis did win, I'd be okay with it. I am just palin excited that The Tigers have made it this far.

And yeah, I do sometimes get cocky...but that was only to get into Met fans....talk about being cocky and arrognat! I wanted to rub that in thier faces.

I've noticed pretty much everybody either a) assuming the Tigers are going to win, or b) not caring. I'm not going to assume anything, but I really expect the Tigers to win the World Series.

The Tigers look the the Mets, but with 4 really good starting pitchers as opposed to 1 (2 if you count John Maine). If the Cardinals have any hope of making this a series, Albert Pujols is going to have to come through big time, and Chris Carpenter had better win both (all 3?) of his starts. The Cardinals WILL NOT win if their best hitter is Molina, and their 4th and 5th hitters can't drive the ball.

I think you're right. Sure the Tigers are really good but the Cards can win the World Series with ease if they really try. The way they beat the Mets, there's a really good chance for them to win. The Cards may have had some bad losses, but you got to remember the Tigers last year. They both could win really.

I wouldn't either. I think the series will be pretty exciting as well and I'm looking foward to watching the first game tonight. I do think the Tigers will sweep the series though.

Well, its october. you are so motivated thaat you are positive your team will win. but anyway, i dont really think so. if oliver perez gave up only 1 run in 6 innings and maine gave up none in 5 1/3, then i cant wait to see what verlander, bonderman and rogers have in store. However, i think that rogers will retire this offseason and they wont have a fun 2007, like all the previous winners since 2000.

Could be a possiblity but if the Redbirds played like they did in the 2004 WS than it will be over.
