You sound like a sponger, why do you really need £2000? If you were really desperate for a car you could buy a useable one for way less than £2k. I even know where their is a half decent car with t&t for £125, but i'm not gonna tell you where it is cos you'll probably want it for nothing.

The UK public transportation is better than what we have in most of the US. Take the underground, train, bus, bike or walk... if you need to borrow money to buy a vehicle, you shouldn't be driving. There are many other costs that you will have to consider (insurance, gas, maintenance, etc.) - purchasing the car is small compare to all the other associated costs. Times are tough... you will get by with out a vehicle if you put your mind to it. Throwing $3000 at you is a bad investment. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Good Luck, I'm sure you'll make it work.

take the bus, no one on here will give you 2k,

you could always get a loan from the bank, of if you have a very close friend, you could always ask them, or try and play bingo or play the lotto, or sell some items on ebay,

or see if you can change your hours around, so you can work later, when the buses are about,

the other guys are right, you can get a car for alot cheaper, my dad went to a car auction and he won my sister a car and it was under 1k and she use it for work etc, and she is fine with it, and she is only 22.

Why do you need £2000 for a car for, you can get them a lot cheaper then £2000, if you need one get a cheaper one that will get you from A-B and they not all rust buckets at lower price. You got to have insurance on your old car so why not use that to get it fix or even do a scam if your that desperate for one.

I'm sorry, I really wish I could help but I can't. Maybe you could search for a job a little closer, I know you said you live in a village, but I'm sure there is work in the village, or a short trip down the road. I'm sure everything will work out. Also I didn't think that your ex could stop you from seeing your kids, when I lived with my mum and my dad saw me once a week, I'm pretty sure he didn't pay maintenance, but still got to see me.

My boyfriend will sell you his car for £450. It works fine as has low mileage but is a bit old. Otherwise go on the friday ad website and there are plently for around 500 that work fine. £2000 is a lot to spend if you have kids to think about and are broke. You could ask your boss for the money.

Apply online at www.surefirefinance.co.uk as long as you have 3 years employment and address history, proof of income and are not bankrupt or have received fraud warnings they will be able to help by supplying a loan secured on the car your buying.

No one in their right mind is going to lend someone they don't know that kind of money. Sounds like you need a better paying job - obviously this one isn't cutting it for you. Pray, maybe that will work. Otherwise, you're stuck with the loan option. Talk to banks and such, they might be willing to work with you if you provide them some type of proof that you're able to pay for it. Otherwise, you might be stuck finding a new job.
