I'll give you some pro arguments (but you'll have to research the details on your own):

1) very few adverse effects compared with many Rx drugs
2) can be injested in multiple forms, smoking is not the only one
3) more effective for treating certain symptoms (nausea, especially) than existing Rx drugs (depending on the patient, of course)
4) current legal scheduling creates large barriers to research on the beneficial effects of cannabis; the full benefits will not be determined until researchers are given wider access to research-quality cannabis
5) cannabis can be grown easily in the home or garden and, if legalized, could provide a much cheaper treatment option than present Rx drugs
6) cannabis has an extraordinarily long history of use, medical and otherwise, by humans so more is known about its effects than many of the brand new pharmaceuticals being hurried into the market
7) Many patients prefer to use a product that is natural as a matter of personal choice

The main problem with weed is that it's a Weed. Once legalized or even reconized as having beneficial properties then it is very hard to control since anyone could really grow it. The problem with people growing there own medicine is that Parmacutical companies can no longer profit from it. So ofcourse there is a whole bunch of reasons why it's hard to research.

There are some diseases where pain medication does not work and people suffer terrible agony. Medical Marijuana should be easier available for people who need it. It helps the effect after Chemo-Therapy too. Why is there such an insane opposition to medical us of marijuana, I hope our Politicians will never experience the agony some people have to live with. I am against legalizing Marijuana for the general public, but medical Marijuana is a whole different story.

Reasons to legalize medicinal marijuana are it is helpful for cancer patients going to chemo therapy to induce appetite, helps with pain and pain managements.
however, it is very difficult for scientists to even conduct studies to prove this. The government will not allow them to grow marijuana for research purposes, they must contact the DEA to obtain it. Very true, even as crazy as it sounds. So the research is inadequate due to the potency is always different. Marijuana/Hemp was a heavily grown crop in the United States until the 1950's and was used for many purposes.
Do some research on the subject, it is very interesting, I personally would advocate the legalization of marijuana. God bless go to www.ask.com and type in the history of marijuana and then type in legalization of medical marijuana or just medical marijuana and you will get all of the information that you need to do a very good paper.

It probably won't be any time soon. There's a HUGE problem with drug gangs in Mexico, and if we decriminalize pot in Texas then they'll just run more of the stuff up here. We already have lots of illegal weed readily available. Even if we did decriminalize it, it's still illegal by federal law.

Personally i don't care for it!! But, I think if a person is sick and it helps the pain and increases their appetite then they should just smoke it! It is a persons right to choose and if someone doesn't like it, they should mind their own business!! My husband is ill and i have told him, if it helps and he wants to, then do it!!!
