I've been trying this 8-digit phone number over and over again, and I can't seem to get a signal, just the busy tone. Anyone know if there;s anything extra I have to dial?

Hi, I'm from the Netherlands.
What you need to call from US to NL are these:

out of USA - into NL - area code (skip the first 0) - number
number

So, a number in Amsterdam when called WITHIN the Netherlands would be:
020 - xxxxxxx (allways 10 digits in total, including area code)

But if dialed from the USA, this would be:
011 - 31 - 20 - xxxxxxx

In other words, if dialing from the USA it's:
011 - 31 plus NINE DIGITS
(because you must skip the first 0 of the area code)

Hope it works now!

As for alysha: girl, you don't know what you're talking about!

Dial 011 then the country code (31 for Netherlands) then the 8 digit number.

Dial 011 31 then the phone no. Check the phone no one more time, has it been disconnected?
If you are using phone card, try a different card. Some cards are not what they claim to be. Try calling during off peak hours. I had similar problems but when i used a different card i got connected in seconds.

you have to dial the country code (ex. US is 1) then the 3-digit area code and the 7-digit number... 8 numbers is not enough
