In Cambridge, MA there's the Dance Complex, which is a community run center, that charges $5 to $12 for classes and allow walk-ins. It would be nice to find something like this, in any of the five boroughs.

Try to look up a studio near you on www.ballroomdancers.com, call them and ask them how much do they charge. NY is a great place for dancing, I'm sure you'll find something. Also, if you are young-looking you can try and see if you can take classes with a local college dance team/club.

pretty much everywhere you go, its gonna be about $18 for a class. i dont know what kind of dance you're looking for, but alot of places are walk in.

you could see if any community colleges offer classes. i am taking a jazz class in CA. it might be different in NY but my class cost about $80.00 for three months twice a week. pretty good if you ask me.

AT your house and watch some geezy dance video that you rent from the video shop..it cheap and u can rewind it and watch the slow motion and wont get nagging from instructor. :)
