If your friend is in real danger, please tell her that some secrets cannot be kept and this is one of them. If you think her brother should be aware of her troubles tell her she must tell him or you will but don't say anything to anyone without her knowledge. You also don't want her brother to get hurt while protecting his sister, depending on the circumstances. You may need to accompany your friend and her brother to the police station if this is a really serious problem. It is difficult for me to respond accurately since I don't know the details but please be led by intelligence and not just by your emotions. Also, take care of yourself since you are so close to this problem and you don't want to become a victim caught in the middle of all this.

a true friend would do whats right and keeping your friend safe would be the right thing to do. think of it this way, would you rather them be safe and not your friend or something really bad happen to them and still be your friend but get in trouble and hurt because you did not tell somebody. then you probably couldn't be friends no more anyways. that is just my opinion.

Pending on what happen to her. If it is really bad and there is a chance that it could happen again. Then I would tell. And as far as her getting mad at you. I wouldn't worry about it. She will understand later. What if you were in her shoes and she was in yours?

If your friend really matters to you, it is better to tell and make sure she doesn't get physically hurt. If you have to tell her brother to keep your friend safe then TELL. It is better to have had her for a friend for a time than for her to get phyisically hurt. And then if it never happens again, I hope all will be forgiven and things will later become right between you and your friend.

If her health or life is on the line then as a friend I think you have the obligation to say something.

She told you in good faith. YOU should not be the one to tell. You should encourage HER to tell someone and get help. I am sorry, you are her friend, she needs you to be her friend and help her help herself. Explain to her how concerned for her you are. You are a good friend. Now go show it. Best of luck. Nana

If she's in a dangerous situation yes! If she is a true friend, she may be upset but in the long run she will thank you

You said you wouldn't say anything, so you must keep your word, but I would try to get her to tell someone else. Try to stress to her how important it is.
