Would you agree to an interview knowing full well they'd most likely make you or your organization look completely moronic?

Those 'reporter in the field' bits by people like Samantha Bee (while very funny) have made some pretty smart people look incredibly stupid.

The Daily Show is one of my favorite shows. I love Jon Stewart.

sure, why not? my organization has been made fun of before, and it would fit right in with the self deprecating part of my sense of humor.

I definitely would do it. The people who watch the Daily Show know very well that the field reporter bits are meant to be funny, not serious. While just appearing on the show would give your company or orgainzation free publicity, it would also show those among us who have half a brain and recoginze humor when we see it that the company/organization we work for has a sense of humor and aren't all nose to the grindstone with an inflated sense of self-importance.

Good question.

Whether you go on the show depends on how badly you want/need the publicity. It is a fake news show designed to make people laugh at the expense of the interview subjects. If you have a good sense of humor, and don't mind being made a fool of, sign up for your 1-3 minutes of fame.

I would absolutely. I think that John Stewart is not only an excellent comedian but a very clever journalist as well. Using his since of humor he could ask question to important people that they would never answer if the interview was formal.

No. I don't have the self-confidence to deal with the way they manipulate what is said in those interviews. They are very funny because they prove that the media has the ability to make you appear to have said things you never said. They're a real eye opener but personally I couldn't handle the humiliation.

Whoa whoa whoa, I love Jon Stewart. You have to have fun with present day situations and make light of them or you're just going to explode with stress and anger.

I would take up that interview in a hot second!

Sure! Since my organization and myself make it a point to BE moronic; might as well look it as well.

And personally, I cannot stand John Steward. Only Adam Sandler can pull off Adam Sandler. HEY JOHN! Get your own SHTICK!

I would do it since I know that the interview would prompt more opportunities for other interviews. Who knows, in time, someone may find me quite marketable. Publicity is something that everyone could use.
Mr. M on "interview."

Sure, why not, i'm not scared, but open to opportunities. To not have experienced moronic or looking incredibly stupid some time or other, is not to have experienced life at all! Therefore, bring on the stupid, laughter is a great medicine, they say, woo-hoo! Thanks for asking!

Absolutely, and then I would turn the joke on them. No doubt they would edit the tape, but knowing that it's all in good fun, I wouldn't mind that either.
