CASE is a methodology and set of tools that allows a software engineer to have software help code the software being written based on the design parameters. Saves money on the mundane coding tasks and allows engineers to concentrate on design.

It's exactly as it's stated...You use "software" (Like Autodesk) to do engineering, instead of a paper and pen or pencil... :-)
And Yes, it's used all the time now...Computer's are much faster at calculating than the human mind! (well most anyways)
