I love writing more than anything and want to become a freelance writer, but I have absolutely NO IDEA how to start, any tips or guidelines?

There is a book published each year called the Writer's Market. In it you can find useful information about how to identify and approach specific markets. You need to learn how to write a query letter. This is covered in the Writer's Guide. It is available in most bookstores. Good Luck!

Just start writing.
I would think your best bet would be to submit manuscripts to various magazines relative to what it is exactly that you're writing about.

Submit your work to someone. Books on this in your public library.
