And check your BIOS settings, if there's an "enable fast boot" selection... "enable" it.
I disabled jusched.exe under msconfig, the Java Update Scheduler, and it made me boot 2X faster.

Uninstall some of the software that loads when you turn the computer on. Look under 'Startup'.

Start>Run> Type "msconfig" w/o quotes
go to the startup tab and disable any programs that you dont need...

stop the unnecessary services from loading at startup.use msconfig to see what services r loading at startup and deactivate them likewise.
