I am researching my family history and found a relative who was born in Mallacullio in India during the 19th Century. I am not sure if that is the correct spelling. I also wonder if Mallacullio was a military encampment.

The name sounds portuguese and that puts it in the state of Goa on the western coast of India. You can write to the socilogy department of God University. That will be the right place to seek answers and more information if they have it. My guess is that if Mallcullio exists in Goa it is a small village. I have not heard this as a big town there. I could find one place called MULAKOLI in the PIN (Postal Index Number directory of India) and its PIN code is 431724 and it is located in the Maharashtra circle of the postal department. Hope this information is useful to some extent.
