Because the democrats have no issues to run on. That's all they know, is how to slander the republicans. If they are so good, why don't we hear any issues from the democrats? They are afraid to talk about what really matters to the voters. The democrats are
saying they are against the war, then why did all the democrats vote to support the President of the United States? They want to give illegal aliens the right to vote, I wonder why? They didn't vote to build a fence. It seems like they want to cut and run, in Iraq. I don't think half of the people in the US, know what the consequences will be, if we loose the war against terrorism. Do you want your children and grandchildren kneeling on a rug five times a day, if they want to or not? Wearing a burka? Walking down the street, and have to walk 10 feet in back of your man? Having no respect for women whatsoever? Just take a minute, and seriously think about it.. Have a great night..

The reason there are so many negative stories about republs is because there are so many things they do that are 'negative' - I don't believe for one second this 'liberal media' bit going around. If the media were truly liberal, they would be frying w everyday with the realities of his decisions. You must also keep in mind the that the chaiman of the FCC ( which controls all radio and non-cable television ) is appointed by the President. And if the media piss off the FCC chairman they will lose their broadcast license. Why do you think such a big deal was made over Janet Jackson's nipple, which most people say they didn't see.

Surely you were aware that the media is a very liberal group and will print and say anything that the Dem's dream up. So of coarse you will see negative stories about the Republican's right now. If you want something fairer you should tune into Fox news.

Both sides are just being nasty. The closer it gets to E-Day the more you will see political ads running amok. Also - the only people that get heard are the people that speak. The DNC is trying to gather a rally-cry against the Republican party because they are spear-heading the whole Iraq thing. The GOP is tring to gather a rally-cry against the DNC by claiming that they don't know what the people want. Jealousy has nothing to do with it (from a previous answer by someone else).

It's politics as usual....the Democrats certainly knew about the Mark Foley scandal long before now, but kept it as 'political collateral' until now.
On the other hand, Republicans are mired in their own cesspool of scandal, lies, and carnage involving an unpopular, illegal and unconstitutional war in Iraq.
Both parties are inherently evil, wicked, and corrupt.
They have succeeded in creating a monopolistic political system wherein the nameless, facelss powers that truly control our country decide who will run for office, and who will be elected. Voters don't get a choice anymore.
Meanwhile, our U.S. Congress is filled with "honorable" men and women, almost ALL of whom are pedophiles, wife beaters, homosexuals, alcoholics, bad-check writers, cross dressers, gambling addicts, liars, petty thieves, shoplifters, drug abusers, rapists, and maybe even a murderer of two (if the truth were known).
Our President is a dimwitted spoiled rich kid who couldn't tie his own shoes without his family's influence and money behind him, and his administration is the most corrupt, evil, arrogant, filthy, repugnant, incompetent, contemptible, cowardly ever to occupy the White House.
All politicians know how to do is attack their enemies and revile their political opponents. The conservative-biased media has only served to strengthen this stranglehold 'Republicrats' have on our republic by allowing Nazi-inspired propagandists such as the Fox "News" channel and drug-infested Rush Limbaugh to spew hatred, bigotry, lies, and prejudice at a whim. This will only result in conservative 'ditto heads' eventually believing it's 'acceptable' to accost, attack, abuse, insult, torture, or murder anyone who doesn't fit the 'perfect conservative profile'. Just as Hitler killed Jews and gypsies in hopes of creating the superior race, conservatives in this country will come to approve the 'elimination' of homosexuals, Jews, Muslims (or other non-Christians), liberals, cross dressers, Hispanics, African-Americans, and any others they don't like.
Of course, pedophiles, drug addicts, alcoholics, business and industry cheats, financial market manipulators, wealthy elitists, and white collar criminals will be welcomed by conservatives as part of the 'perfect society' which they so gallantly embrace.
Both political parties are rift with corruption and greed. they care nothing about "we the people", only about themselves and their own power base, wealth, and privilege. Until all of these evil people are thrown out of our political system, nothing will change - you'll continue to see 'negative stories' and mud slung as part of what these so-called 'honorable' people do to win at any cost. -RKO-

What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Traditionally, Republicans lead in smear politics; although, of course, both sides do it as a norm in electioneering.
If the public showed that they were turned off by negative politicking, it would disappear from the scene, wouldn't it?

cuz that's how it works; negative campaigning, on both sides, to bring in the votes. of course it would increase close to election day.
