Don't go to Serbia - it just one big concrete slab especially Belgrade, since Milosevic's terror reign it destroyed the ambiance of the place.
Go to Bosnia and Hercegovina or Croatia its better. I've travelled all over the former Yugoslavia and Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina are the best. There is a place in Hercegovina called Udovice - it has the best lamb roasts in all the land.

while driving thru that areas i found that pig roasts are found along the roadways , the history is too long and involved for me to try to type out
