I have a hat, some hair, and am using the stem of the pumpkin as the nose. I didn't want to just draw the eyes and mouth b/c I'm not that great of an artist. Any ideas for the eyes and mouth?

I just finished making one with my afterschool art kids! We made the "skin" slightly greenish and picked a scary face picture from a pumpkin decorating book and painted it on with acrylic paints. (there are usually patterns for the facial features in the back of the books, so even a non-artsy person can do this pretty successfully) We used leftover black yarn glued around the stem for hair. The hat was made from constuction paper with glitter painted stars and moons. We also used added some little stars to the brim from leftover Christmas garland. (those little plastic spider rings would also look cute hanging off the hat) And we made a spider for the brim of the hat from a styrofoam ball painted black and black pipe cleaners for legs.
(The nose idea with the stem is great, but I made a hole in the circle of the hat brim and set it right down on the stem, so it can't fall off.)

Get big googly eyes and glue them on the pumpkin. I think hot glue would hold. For the mouth put on a lot of lipstick and kiss the pumpkin!

one of the yahoo 9's last week was a site about nothing but decorating pumpkins. You might try 9.Yahoo.com and take a look. I do not remember which day but it should not take you long to flip through 5 days and they are worth looking at anyway
