leather is typically conditioned with neets foot oil. DON'T use silicon. Lanolin is FAR better than crisco which is vegetable fat/oil. It will soon desicate and you will be left with an unpleasent oder.
Mineral oil would be the third thing to try and I personally wouldn't use baby oil nor vasoline....the latter being more like grease than oil. DON'T use Murpheys nor saddle soap they are cleaners.

If you use crisco or something like that, the grease will rub off on your clothes. Save up for proper leather cleaner.

They only cost a few bucks. But I would not use crisco. It's too greasy. Maybe olive oil or something like that. That costs just a much though.

Murphy's oil soap. Should be able to get it at Walmart or other big "marts". We use it all the time on leather for horse equipment.
another thing you can do is heat up peanut oil til it is warm (not boiling) and put the bag in or rub it on the bag. Soaking it in warm oil is better tho.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Thus as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

I find baby oil works and smells great too. I used on my black leather jacket and boots. It conditions well and gives back the shine.
