Whenever I have a chance and I do not use it properly or I simply fail, I wish I wouldn't have had that opportunity. Do you ever feel like this? Could I be considered ungrateful?

I know what you mean, but I try not to feel that way. I don't like to think of what my life could have been without any opportunities, so I try not to wish opportunities away, even the ones where I didn't do as well as I could have. I prefer to see every experience as at least a chance to learn. Many people seem to think in terms of win/lose or success/failure, but too many losses or failures could wreck your confidence. There is no such thing as too much learning. So if you let yourself learn instead of always having to "win" and you keep yourself open to opportunities, you increase your knowledge and your chances for real success.
This could go a long way toward helping you feel grateful for all opportunities, since even in the worst case, all experiences are opportunities to learn.
Now is it really YOU that says you are failing, or is this feedback coming from someone else? You can have an unspoken understanding with yourself, but if others are involved, you have to put it into words. The words are these: It didn't go very well, but I learned what to do differently next time.

Even if you fail, the best thing that can happen to you is to have the opportunity in the first place. Each opportunity we experience is a chance to learn and grow within our environmnet and ourselves. You're not always going to succeed on your first try. A lot of this has to deal with self-esteem issues, also. You said that when you fail you wish you had never had that opportunity. Next time you don't succeed at your goal, ask yourself "How can I make this work?" or "What can I do different?" and you'll succeed. Good luck and remember - Einstein sucked at math in school, and look what he accomplished!

Don't dwell on past decisions, instead learn from your mistakes and move forward. Instead of beating your self esteem up, realize you are more knowledgeable and that you are too smart to make the same poor decision.

Also realize that you don't have to win and succeed every time. It is okay to lay low and take it easy. Enjoy life and learn that winning isn't everything. If you had taken some time for yourself that is probably what you needed. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Hold your head high and know that the world's most successful people fail from time to time and they even take brakes for themselves.

You aren't ungrateful, you are insecure. Give yourself a pat on the back and say "I am Great!."

Take Care!

Ungrateful? no. just unexamined.
There is fear in change, plus fear of the unknown.
It's very helpful to write about the fears that are being generated by the opportunity.
Then you will understand yourself a lot better & perhaps ask G-d to help you move beyond your fears to the unknown territory that is being offered, and to help you both make the change and be with you in the new experience.

Good luck.

HI
Everyone fails or has missed opportunites in thier lives.
I think they are there to be learning experiences

Youc an always take soe positive things away from a negative experience in your life... you may have to look hard ot find them but they are there.

Dont dwell on the negative experience, but gather the things you learned , and move on to the next,, even if it is the next mistake you will make...

You cant contrtol outside factors but you can control what you do with all the crap that is destined to come your way in life and how you allow it to effect you.

So keep your chin up
You are not alone!!

Good Luck

When I think of wasted opportunities, I think back to a day in 1969 in Cambodia. I was a young second lieutenant in the US Army & my squad & I were on patrol. We stopped about mid-day & were sitting & smoking & laughing in the sun. One moment, I was facing my friend & watching his face & the next, his head exploded & landed in my lap, shot to pieces by a sniper. He was only 18yrs. old & had his whole life ahead & I was responsible for his life. I wonder what he could have been or done & why I was unable to give him a chance to seek his future. I'll never forgive myself for not bringing him & several other brothers home to realize their futures, be they good or bad.. Take your next opportunity & do the best you can. It's all you can do. This is how I've lived my life for the last 40yrs. Good luck.

You resent to regret. You might be afraid that you will feel bad or your optimistic spirit will break down.

You try to run away and wish it never happened because you want to be positive about that you might get another chance.

Believe me you are not alone. In today's world people live by feeling good about themselves. Because if that is not true then reality can be really harsh for a lot of people.

We learn from failure and missed opportunities, and life goes on. It doesn't matter if you wish or didn't wish that opportunity was there, it's gone and life goes on.

Why don't you just make use of your next opportunity and forget the past?
