Earlier this week i went to see a play with my class for a fieldtrip. Now we have to write a play review saying the name of the playwright, type of play, and the class or name of the performing group. We also need to staple a copy of the playbill to our review

So questions

whats a playbill?
Whats a playwright?
Type of play
What does it mean by class or name of performing group?

Thanks!

A playbill is the program they handed you when you went in; it should have the names and biographies of the actors, director etc.

A playwright is the author of the play -- for example, William Shakespeare, Edward Albee, etc.

The type of play would be whether it's a comedy, a drama, a history, a musical, etc.

The class or name of the performing group is just what it sounds like -- Miss Wormwood's 4th grade class, or the Oregon Shakespeare Festival: the group that performed the play.

So, what did you see? :-)

A playbill is the "program" ushers hand out at the door when you go into the theater.

A playwright is the writer/author of the play.

Type of play is drama, comedy, etc.

I'm assuming the class/name of the performing group means either the names of the actors or the company or organization putting on the play.
