I don't understand why him being gay makes a differance but anyway that's not the point. Now if you want your friend to know about the odour problem then yes buy him some nice smellies as a gift, this isn't the most subtle option as he may put 2 and 2 together, so in that case you might as well tell him about his problem. If however you dont want to deal with that situation, you just want the smell to stop you could possibly tell him that you want to take up swimming but you dont want to go alone, this way your make sure he has a wash :oD of course this will take some of your time but it's the least you can do for your friend plus you'll get fit too.

How does being gay make his stench worse? Some friend you are.
Gay men are usually known for their impecable grooming, but I suppose you could gently tell him he would look even more attractive if he shampooed his hair and used some of this really good smelling deodorant you've picked up for him at the drug store. Make him a little gift basket of soap and shampoo and deodorant...he'll get the idea, and you won't hurt his feelings.

My friends are all pretty upfront with each other and a comment like
"phew, you're a bit whiffy today - done a ten mile run or something?" usually results in armpits up, a quick sniff and decision to hop in the shower.
It shouldn't be such a hard thing to say to a friend.

Man this is like one of the most difficult questions of all time. Errm let me see... oh yeh if you like him well as a friend just make it clear to him in a nice way. I'd prefer being indirect but sometimes direct is better. Chat to him about people who smell nice and stuff like that. In that way he will be more conscious of his body smell and try to do something about it. It will be quite difficult but do it in a friendly way. Hope it works.

If someone who you class as friend smells, it's your duty to tell them. You don't sound like much of a friend...

I don't understand why a "gay" friend's body odour should be worse or more of a problem than a "straight" friend's body odour. A friend is a friend....just take him to one side and tell him that he had an odour problem. Faining that grab him and squirt him with deo. A friend is a friend........... he would do the same for you!

Quite obviously your friend only seeks attention as calling himself "gay" as everyone knows how ridiculously meticulous the gays are with there designer hair and fancy outfits. Obvious answer is to tell him to bath and find a woman as smelliiness is the norm for a normal heterosexual guy!

firstly..what does being Gay have to do with having bad body odour?? If you are a mate you would tell him he has a body odour issue & suggest a bath & some deoderant, Secondly stop being so wierd & making a mountain out of your mate being gay...unless u are worrying as u fancy him & his odour is putting you off!! Being gay does not give you bad body odour!!!!!!!!!

why dose it make it worse if he is gay do gay men smell different then, be a good friend and tell him, ask him around and tell him you have somthing to tell him, say you are sorry if this will upset him, but you have his best interest at heart,,,,, good luck be brave and be a good friend
