Gene Kelly, the love of my life! I love the dance on the hill with Cyd Charisse in Brigadoon. For Modern Dance it's West Side Story and Bye Bye Birdie. Not so Modern, I realize, but that's what it was called.

There's some fabulous Busby Berkeley numbers, esp "The Forgotten Man" from 42nd Street.
I like American in Paris ballet as well, but I'd have to go with West Side Story, either the opening number or dance at the gym.

My favorite is "Good Morning" from Singing in the Rain. Hey, that's Gene Kelly too.

Gene Kelly was great, however, my favorite song/dance routine in a movie is the opening number in "West Side Story." "When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way, from your first cigarette, to your last dying day..."

I'll have to add a vote for "Singing in the Rain". I even enjoyed the elephants dancing to it in the commercial.

my favorite musical is "The Music Man" and while i love all the songs, 'Marion, Madam Librarian" is my favorite and the dance sequence is lots of fun.
West Side Story has some great numbers too.

"Cell Block Tango" from Chicago. Wonderfully done & soooo sexy. Made me want to start stretching. As far as classic movies go, I really loved "Cheek to Cheek" by Fred Astaire.
