this is a behavourial instinct but this information must have been passed down in the dna..instinct i think is a catchall for various automatic response..as soon as a baby deer can walk it will hide with it's ears down and wait (hours sometimes) until it's mum gives the all clear..this has to be more than flight or fight response caused by hormones..if this can be classed as inherited memory transferred via dna..is this feasable?????

I think most of what you describe is innate behaviour. Behaviour patterns have long been known to be inherited via your DNA. Anything from newborns knowing how to suckle to more complex behaviours such as your deer running for cover can be explained this way. Inherited memory is more controversial - the idea that something your parents experienced during life and remembered could be passed down to you was long thought not to be possible. However, just recently, the science of epigenetics has arisen and it is beginning to look like some memory is inherited.

Of course that is inherited behaviour. There is still a lot about evolution, dna etc that we do not understand but there are scientists all over the world studying it and we learn something new all the time
