the wipers on my 2001 gran am do not work in the intermitent setting.otherwise they are working fine. this seemed to have ha[ppend sometime after i had, remote start installed, could they have screwed something up when installing the remote start and keyless entry.?if so can you pinpoint the problem

possible. the intermitten setting is on a timer, find it and see if your getting power

Yes the power wire for the intermitent is the same color as the power wire for the remote starter.
It sounds like thy eather cut into this wire or thy unpluged it when thy installed the starter remote.
Take it back and have then check the wireing for the wipers.
