Have you ever considered going to Delaware? We have some beautiful beaches, great places to eat, and tax free shopping.
Killens Pond State Park is a great place to camp, there's even a nice water park there for the family.
I've added some links to some of my favorite places down by the beaches. Just remember to make your reservations early it gets busy down here in the summer.

make an itinerary and highlight some key sites of interest and then show it to whom you are trying to convince on trying a new area for camping.
