Intelligent story, funny as well as touching, 10 May 2000
Author: sekroner from Germany
This tale of the friendship between two boys of different background and character is funny as well as touching. It is a very intelligent entertaining story about the importance of love, trust, understanding and laughter. Set in Rome it shows how big events as well as small things can influence a relationship - a friendship that will last a lifetime, even if the two boys might never meet again.
I was unable to locate a source to purchase on dvd or vhs

Think I know which one you mean. The Jewish boy wore braids and I believe long black robes if I remember right. Was from the high sect Jewish belief and I think his father was the Elder of the Church. Think he broke the kids glasses too. Was an excellent movie but I can't remember the name of it.

Do you remember the studio that released the film? You could write to them and ask if it is still released out to dvd or vhs.
You could also check with your library, video stores.

"Amici per la pelle"? According to IMDB it doesn't appear to be currently available on tape or dvd. It may have been in the past so you might wanna check ebay or amazon for a used copy.

You can almost surely get it from Netflix if you have a DVD player or know someone who will let you share theirs.
