I had this problem for years. ..now I have filled out, but since i am petite I am still called sweetie, darling, honey child..you name it. burns me up. People mistakingly think I am 18...Im going on 32...this does not help for my self image!
Here's the thing. These people are not respecting you and your body! They are taking the same type of prejudices skinny girls use for overweight women and they are making you just as uncomfortable as those overweight girls...except you've been this way your whole life-and it's not fair bc you didn't ask to be born this way!
What I have done in the past? Start a conversation, casually, about how much it hurts that people have "always" thought you were anorexic just because you were petite. Also say that you have gotten teased and tormented (as , correct me if im wrong, but I guess you have been- me too!..."she can dodge raindrops she's so skinny..blah blah...all this hurtfull stuff growing up I never wanted to even go to school)
Anyway...present that past story to them in a hurtful way making it seem as though you are sharing a story to bond with them... which makes it seem as though you are confiding in them to tell them why you don't trust new people, gain friends fast, whatever. Then say, it all started from when I was a child in school and "bullies" used to torment me about my weight. They will get the "clue" that what they are doing is bringing up past issues, being "BULLIES", creating flashbacks from bad times in your life, and also lead them to recognize this one valuble lesson: YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN BUILT THAT WAY. And it hurts to get talked about bc of your body, regardless of your age.
Hopefully they will regognize that what they are doing is dragging you and them as well, back to childhood...a place all of us loved at some point, but never wish to return bc of that drama and BS...
Be strong sis!

Why would you allow someones opinion make you quit your job?Hello! Is any body home up stairs? That should be the last thing on your mind. After all,if you loose your job you will truly look like you have a disorder. Those women are just jealous that they can't be as small as you. Take it from me.Big is beautiful, but thin is in.I myself can stand to loose a few pounds. It is not meant for us to all have the same body weight. If that was the case we wouldn't have Any special identities to go by. So what I am trying to say is,tell those people to get off your back and go on a diet, so they can look as god as you.

hey, don't worry, haven't you ever heard that good things come in small packages? I was always small my own life, size 0 then went to a size 3 sometimes size 5. I'm 52 now and still wear a size 3. My husband has no complaints. Just blow these people off, just laugh them off, if they know it bothers you they will keep it up. Don't quit your job, no matter where you work at, there will always be these kind of people.

go to mcdonalds and bring a bunch of double cheeseburers into the office, and eat more than anybody. I'm 6'4 190 and I get the same kinds of comments, even though if you check a body mass index, I'm actually right at normal weight for my height. It's just that most people are atleast slightly overweight in america these days.

You know what, im a size 0 also..and i eat like a horse, and im extreemly healthy, i've always heard from co-workers, and friends about my weight...mostly it is just a jealousy issue, but some people truely beleive that to be healthy you need to be plump...It's something you just need to let blow off your shoulders and ignore...make sure they see you eat occasionaly so they don't worry..anerexia is a pretty serious eating disorder, and people probably worry.

I'd think that it was some kind of jealousy mixed with a genuine concern for your health combined with healthy teasing (gotta tease you, because, well, you're you!).
Turn the tables, and eat a banana split when they're having salads next January as they try to lose holiday pounds.

Tell them you're not anorexic and its none of their business.
Then tell them to drop the issue.

I think they are just jealous or envious or overly worried.
Just ignore them and continue to do your work. It's their problem, not yours.
