now this depends on your level of awareness. if you live your life by drifting down the river of least resistance, then you will be easily affected by forces outside of yourself, including suggestive influences such as advertising, news, people and even mild cosmic influences such as moon phases and perhaps even astrological positions. however if you are curious enough to notice how your emotions are initiated by thoughts, and then further discover our ability to mentally step back and observe the surprising and even shocking content of the thoughts parading before our internal screens, we cannot help but question the source of these thoughts. surely we would not choose to think such things, yet when negative or even horrible images appear before our minds, we usually accept them as our thoughts, even allowing those thoughts to negatively charge our emotions, setting up the potential for detrimental actions. those people who are fortunate enough to discover man's ability to mentally step back and observe the mind's flow of thoughts, without becoming emotionally involved, gain a most powerful insight, even to the degree that we can control or even stop the flow of thoughts with the force of our awareness. when we begin to take responsibility and resist or reject the undesirable thoughts, they begin to subside and the space between our thoughts becomes greater. in that space is the greatest discovery of our humanity, for it is in that space between our thoughts that our life's crowning inspiration resides, even the discovery of our true identity and path of knowledge, for in reality, we are so much more than we can begin to imagine and our potential to become is beyond our wildest imagination.

I think that choices are not random. Our path in life is set

Neither one. You're born with a set of predispositions resulting from your genetics, some of which affect your personality and some of which are called instinct. The rest is just a series of conditioned responses varying in complexity from making sounds to doing trigonometry. You have no free will, but you feel like you do - this is an illusion, however. And still, nothing is predetermined...the things that happen to you are somewhat random, but your responses are results of your genetics and your past experiences.

I have so many paths to choose.
But things keep apearing when I dont expect them to. Like last night I talked wth my husband about starting a childrens group 3 - 5 year olds teaching them english in germany. Today at the supermarket I met a lady that franchises childrens english groups in the area I live.

Its hard to ignore that their isnt some greater power in all of this.

IMO you make decisions, each of which is a fork in the road. Your choices determine where you go in life and how far you go. When you reach the end of the last branch where no fork exists, you fall off the tree in death.

A bit simplistic but that is about the way I see it.

Good Question, Thumbs up.

Choices, yes. Not random. More like an evolution.

You could almost ague that what will be, will be. Whether you were meant to take that route or not you'll never know but I do think you make certain choices and that defines who you are and what you become.
