we're pretty close. my father passed away nearly 16 years ago...I still miss him terribly. I've gotten closer with my mother over the years. closer since I moved out on my own...and closer still since I cam out to her. she accepts me and my partner. there's still a little bit of misunderstanding and underlying prejudice that I see sometimes...but, mostly because she's never really known any gay people. still trying to encourage her to go to PFLAG.

Yes and no. My parents live about 700miles away, but we do talk often.
My coming out hasn't changed our relationship at all. My parents are very supportive of me and only ever want me to be happy.

I love my parents and am thankful for their presence in my life, but I like them better from a distance.
I have my own life and my own family now. I cannot continually be there for them all the time. I have my own son to finish raising.
They retired and moved to a more southern state and have never been so happy in their lives. I'm happy for them as I know they're very happy for me.

no im not. it is because of my decsion to leave the abuse they heaped upon me as a child behind. i was physically and emotionally abused by a former marine drill instructor father and a mother who was powerless to do anything about it. that coupled with the fact that i announced to them nearly 10 years ago that i preferred to dress openly as a woman and 3 1/2 years ago i told them i was starting the process towards becoming a woman.

I always considered my mom my best friend until she passed away. After her death my dad and i stopped talking and have had no relationship since June of 2001. Is that an answer?

My father won't even look me in the eye and my mother acts like I'm somebody I'm not, so that would be a NO!

at one time yes...but when i turned 14 and accepted i was bisexual i began to drift from them because i knew that they would never want to speak to me again let alone be close to me because of my lifestyle.....but that's their lose, if they want to be ignorant so be it, ill get my revenge when they get older and miss me being around helping them.
