My parents have two and believe they are the same sex and would like to breed them with other like minded tortoises

Lots of people breed spur thigh tortoises, have you checked the classifieds at kingsnake.com
Last week some breeder was selling sulcattas for $60, granted they were hatchlings, but still an excellent price.

well then your cats shouldent have a bounch of queer tourteses and then you wouldent have to worry about it
