I run avast anti virus, this is a real time program which is actively scanning my computer.
I also have bit defender downloaded as additional security, the free version does not include real time protection but has among the best programs for finding and removing viruses that may not be detected by avast. this program has to manually be turned on, thus no conflict between the two occurs, should also work with AVG.

You CAN install as many as you want, HOWEVER you should ONLY have ONE (1) running at a time. (They tend to "fight" with each other, and cause "conflict" problems.)

If you INSIST on more than one, use more than 1 computer and set up a LAN (Local area network) so that the first connects to the internet and has a virus scanner, the second has a different virus scanner and connects THROUGH the first to the internet, and so on. That way each machine only has 1 virus scanner running.

NOTE: This also lets you have different machines for different uses, and you can use a "port switch" so that they can use the same keyboard, mouse, and monitor (not at the same time however, only one at a time can be accessed at a time, you switch back and forth as needed, FROM THE KEYBOARD.)

Personally, I use 1 for internet connection (with firewall & anti-virus), with 8 others accessing through that 1 on my LAN, (and able to access each other.) 1 has business files, 1 personal files, 2 for games (1 "old" windows and DOS, 1 "new" windows), 1 for general surfing, 1 for storage (server for backups, etc.), 1 Linux (with 5 different versions, multi-boot capable), and 1 UNIX mini-mainframe. The others each have their own anti-virus.

Avira AntiVir own has the utmost detection cost of all unfastened anti-viruses. it extremely is even greater effective than maximum paid ones. I used to apply AVG, and concept it grew to become into rather stable, till I have been given hit with a pandemic, and regarded for a greater robust one. I study some place that examined a bunch. I overlook top now the place it grew to become into. i'm thinking laptop worldwide ... yet no longer valuable. Even after working Malwarebytes, that's great for looking stuff others omit, Avira got here upon greater stuff on my gadget.

ACG if good.
If you install more than one, they can conflict with each other and cause problems.
If you think AVG has missed something, run it in Safe Mode, if something is still amiss, try one of the online scanners.
