The fact that he threw up would really concern me. It could be a concussion. If he doesn't bounce right back I'd call the pediatrician and see if they can get him in today or, depending on his behavior, take him to the ER.

Maybe you two should wear helmets! JK :) Your little guy sounds like he is probably OK. If he smiled, he probably wasn't in too much pain, but you may want to get him checked out just for in case. As for you, I wouldn't be surprised if you had a concussion. Vomiting and head injuries do not go good together! That almost always points to a concussion. I'd go to the ER... Sorry about your noggins!

If he constantly hits his head or rubs his ears, that's a sign of ear infection.. so is throwing up.
You can make an appt. with his pediatrician, but since today is Saturday, rather than wait 2 more days I would take him to the ER and let them check him out.

Children this age often hit their heads, and you will quickly learn which bumps to worry about and which ones to treat with 'mommies magic kisses'. Unless it was a huge bump, I don't think that there will be adverse effects.
If you are worried about it happening again, just pad his play area out with cushions.

OOPS, sorry, I misread your question.
I agree with everyone else. Go to doctor and get your little one checked out.

it depends on how hard or where he hit his head......my son is 11 months and ever since he learned to sit up at about 5 months he's been hitting his head.....he's a perfectly healthy little boy.......your little guy is bound to hit his head because he's trying to do new things......just use your maternal insticts and you and your baby will be fine

It's normal for kids to hit their heads--expecially when they are learning to crawl/pull up. If he threw up and you have concern then take him to the ER.
