The blisters that you are talking about are cold sores, which are actually a strain of the herpes. Once you get a cold sore, future outbreaks can be caused by a variety of reasons. Most outbreaks are triggered by changes in your body's chemistry or your surroundings. For example, a change in diet, a climate change, or a new medication can all cause a blister to appear. And yes, emotional stress can definitely trigger an outbreak also.
You can treat cold sores with a variety of topical or internal medications. Generally, the pills help suppress outbreaks, while the topical medications help an existing sore to heal more quickly. Valtrex is a non-prescription ointment that can help speed up the healing of a cold sore.

Yes, definitely. The skin often reacts to emotional stress by various kinds of break outs, such as hives or what you have, which is probably a "cold sore"---herpes simplex. You can use topical medication, avoid touching it, and be patient. In about four or five days it will be much better and probably gone.

Yes, it is the herpes simplex virus. It can be brought out by stress. It actually lives in your spinal column. You can take medication orally or topically for it-see the doctor. The medication only makes it go away faster. Be careful not to scratch or touch your lip and then touch or scratch someone else or yourself in other places-it is contagious and can become genital herpes if spread thru oral sex.
