The perimeter of a rectangle equals 24 feet
The perimeter formula is
P = 2L + 2W
24 = 2(10) + 2(2)
24 = 20 + 24
24 = 24
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Length is 10 Feet
The width is 2 Feet
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -s
Method 2
The length is 5 times its width. find the width. The perimeter is 24 feet
P = 2L + 2W
24 = 2(5W) + 2W
24 = 10W + 2W
24 = 12W
24/12 = 12W/12
2 = W
The answer is W = 2
The width is 2 feet
The length is 5 times the width.
5 x 2 = 10
The length is 10 feet
-- - - - - - - s
Finding Perimeter when Length and Width are known
Length = 10
Width = 2
P = 2L + 2W
P = 2(10) + 2(2)
P = 20 + 4
P = 24
- - - - - - - - -s

The perimeter of a rectangle=2*Length+2*Width
24=2*Length+2*Width
24=2(Length+Width)
24/2=Length+Width
12=Length+Width
You have not mentioned length or width.So, if length is 10 feet, then width
=12-10
=2 feet.
You can check it out by putting these values in the formula of perimeter of a rectangle.

Hmmm.... Tuff ask.
P = 2(L + B)
A square can also be termed as a rectangle and hence,
P = 4x
therefore,
24 = 4x
x = 6 feet.
Hence the length of side x = 6 feet.
