Support them in their creations. Try and make sure that whenever you can add to their "creation baskets." Meaning whatever they work with ie: if they painted you would buy paints and canvas. Then get them a web site and one on ebay. The reason for the ebay site is it is a great way to promote their regular site. Good luck to both of them. Oh and for the person who makes the comment about your son designing dresses alot of great designers never starred on Brokeback Mountain.

First of all buy your son a purse and some lipstick then rent him brokeback mountain, if he finds all of those things appealing then fashion is for him. Since I have been living most of my life in NYC (the fashion capital of the Americas) I see a lot of talented people and unfortunately your children are too young for the recognition you want them to have, other then the recognition that you, yourself can offer them. As a parent you have a responsibility to nurture them, especially their creative talents, but do not push them again the keyword is nuture. So maybe you can get your daughter a sewing machine and fabrics. And get your son some drawing lessons, a crayola box complete with sharpener and an Indians costume like that from the village people. What I'm saying is make sure that is where his heart is and that he's not doing it because his fashion obsessed mommy can only be gotten through to via shopping and fashion.

First, I'd get some opinions on their talent from some more objective sources.
There's more to designing a dress than just drawing it. If he's sewn it up and it hangs just right, then I'm impressed; but...
If there's a fashion school near you, see if you can get some folk from there to volunteer to spend a little time mentoring. Though at 9 and 12, the interest in the subject may last six more days. Don't push anything.
I think you mean "prodigies," not "protegés."

Make them stay in school ! Just because you think they're talented, does'nt mean they are ! A mother's opinon is of little value...And I'd be a little concerned about a 9 year old boy who spends his time designing dresses !

Well, they are kinda young still but I guess what you can do is really encourage them in the "arts" I would not force them into anything, as long as they really enjoy what they are doing. Perhaps look into some creative arts programs in your area. You got to start with the basics before anything else.

Put their stuff on Ebay. If it's any good, it'll make a lot of money.
