I understand this is a question about your feelings, so only you can answer this. However if I was to answer this I guess I could think about this on two levels:

1) Fear of the unknown
2) Opportunity to grow - make new friends, have new experiences, educational or career opportunities you couldn't have at home.

With jet airlines there really is no need to feel worried that you may never come back again even if you go to live on the other side of the world. With the internet communication is easy and could be daily.

Say for instance you had a job, and the company wanted you to help out at the London or Paris branch for a year. Lets say you loved it there and quickly made lots of new friends. You may feel you now have twice as many friends as if you had stayed at home all your life. Given the siteseeing, shopping and cultural opportunities, maybe this may seem also a very enjoyable experience.

On the other had if you say you lived in a country which was invaded and you were forced from your home and you had to find somewhere else to live, a mixture of anger, fear and determination to survive would be more likely.

I am a Green Party of the United States member, but I agree with you. We must always keep in mind that "illegal" means a crime is committed in some action. Sneaking into another country without that country's permission is ALMOST always a crime in any nation. The reason why our nation does not really enforce the entry laws is because corporations run our United States of America, and those corporations wish to break unions, make jobs so competitive that we USAians beg for jobs due to foreign intrusions, and generally, it lowers our wage scale. Do not believe the propaganda that foreign workers take jobs US natizens would not take. If employers treated all US natizens as human beings and not by the corporate-communist term of "human resources" (even as animals), then more people of our nation would take those jobs. Have you ever witnessed how inhuman farm work is? Picking tomatos is hard, back-breaking work, tomato pickers often must find their own lodging each time they migrate from one farm to the next, they often are very low-paid. It is not the kind of life that a family can accommodate! Ever notice how the meat packing plants hire foreign workers? Ever wonder why? Investigate those working conditions. But anyone who "sneaks" or "steals" across a national border is a criminal and deserves to be treated as such. It is a genuine serious crime even in our complacent nation.

I would be devastated. I would be leaving behind friends, family and the place where i spent my childhood. Also, i tend to think of my country as my "haven" the one place where ur safe and secure.U know all the ways and the customs. And to leave my haven and to go out into another country, with new language, traditions, culture......It would be hard to get adjusted.
But, on the other hand, u cud also look at it like an adventure. U will be all one ur own in a new country, u cud explore and experiment, it would give a chance to broaden ur horizons, and learn new things.

A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

It is possible that one must leave his native land for purely economic reasons, such as, lack of employment. It has often been said that you cannot eat scenery. Personally, I did so and found the 'new' land very lonely. I missed the countryside, my friends and relations but most of all, I missed my mother.
Others have to flee their homeland to escape persecution, imprisonment for defying government policy and finally for crimes committed. This must be the worst form of emigration as the person fleeing may never see that homeland ever again. They have the added worry of what will happen to their friends and relations who may well be still in the fled country.

I hope this helps.................

Also, getting the habit of doing things Im not used to well quite hard dont you think? Yet, there might be some possiblities that I will find this new land adaptable at some point. However, its not all bad, I might even like the place and make my own life there. Might even make my own family. THATS WHAT I THINK YOU SHOULD PUT. GOOD LUCK!

first, home means family, friends, business and property, if we have this in another place then there will be no problem.
second, to fedup with the community we need language, customs, understanding for there sense of humor.
third, after a while, we need to take care of legal issues because you are a foreigner and you will be treated differently, for expample aquiring lands laws is different, joining schools, etc.

other than this i don't think it worth mentioning

You can expand on your answers or give examples to flesh out your ideas and lengthen it a bit.

Here is how I would feel:
- No allegiance/connection to new country. i'd miss my old country.
- Making new friends and meaningful connections could be a challenge.
- Might face racism or discrimination from natives

I will add more as I think of them.

How would you have to adapt to new ways of living? Think about customs, laws, rights, not yet being a citizen, relationships and anything else you can think of and write about them.
