Insect Spray and exposure to the air should be good enough. They are not very mobile as a larva so they couldnot go more then a few Centimeters before they turn into flys. Kill them now and you willnot have a fly problem later. Discusting but they should not return. I have a tendency to spray for spiders on a consistent basis and have not ever had any larva problems. I have had a friend who did get them and spraying them killed them pretty quickly.

Maggots are fly larvae.. A fly has to lay it's eggs in some sort of food and they hatch in it. The maggots then eat the food they are in and eventually turn into flies themselves.
There must be something rotting in your closet, so find out what it is. They won't be on your clothing because they don't eat clothes. :)

If you found them in your CLOSET, are you SURE they aren't CARPET BEETLE LARVAE??? That would sound more logical and they sort of look like small maggots but not usually in clusters like you might see maggots when chomping on dead animals Carpet Beetles like dark places and will eat your clothes, carpet, furniture, dead bugs or animal and whatever else. A female carpet beetle can lay 100 eggs so it can become a serious problem fast. With either one, be sure to do extreme cleaning (launder your clothes) and spray inside and outside your home with Ortho Home Defense Max. Good luck!

Hi. Start by cleaning out your closet to get rid of food. Maggots do not eat live flesh (usually).

I'm not sure if this is a joke, but maggots aren't very nice. Just call an exterminator and gt himt o remove them. And don't go near them, depending on what type of maggots they are they can give you an infection or annoying "bites".

I would wash the area with bleach (use rubber gloves and be careful not to get it on anything else) and as the other person said, check for something rotten, because that's what attracts flies. I think you're gone a bit wild with the things you've supposed, but I won't tease because you're upset.
