I have a cousin, he is in 8th grade of Middle School or Junior High.

He has excellent grades, straight A's in his report card from 7th grade. And his 8th grade report card too.

I was just wondering what are the benefits to very good students in the United States? T

The school doesn't give him anything about this, absolutely nothing. Not even a small reward.

So what's the point? If a student has a GPA of 4.0 excellent conduct and excellent grades, whats the point of having all this, seing that nobody will him anything, he is mad and frustrating with this situation.

So what are the benefits to good students? if they are...

There are no benefits of having a 4.0 in middle school. However in high school you may become eligible for scholorships so you will not have to pay out of pocket for college.

It depends on what school he goes to, and if he wants to get recognized, he should do something about it. See, my school does an extra awards assembly at the end of the year, and they send an invitation card to let you know that you are getting something. That's also really nice, so you get many different kinds of awards, and you feel so good about what you have accomplished.
My school also gives a little bonus where you get a rootbeer float, pen/pencil, and a card saying that you are an honors student. All that is needed, is some support from others and a cooperative administration.

Realistically, he could go into programs such as CTY(Center for Talented Youth). I tried to get in, but I was supposed to take a test and I didn' t so...bleh. But check if he can take the SAT's; he should be able to if he is intelligent and has very good knowledge of how to learn through self-application.
