I germinate mine by putting a mixture of compost and sand in a plastic bag add a little water, seal the bag and leave outside all winter letting the frost freeze and refreeze the acorns etc, when you check the bag in the spring you will find that seeds will have germinated, take them out of the bag, plant them in compost in a medium sized pot, hey presto, you have got youself a young tree. good luck ,and enjoy

Very simple.. Take an acorn.. or a horse chestnut nut and plant them into the ground.. make sure that the ground is of good earth... and water them .. Better yet.. It is probably best to plant them in a pot that has a hole in the bottom so excess water cannot build up..Then watch them grow.. I assume that you are wanting to plant them.. I also assume that you are 3 years old.. because by the time you are 70 or so.. you might see a tree

I have grown a Horse Chestnut tree from seed.It is 6 feet tall now. The first year, I put some soil and leaves, compost in a plastic pot, put the chest nut in and dug the pot and all in the ground....I played Mother Nature. The next Spring I prepared a spot for it with lots of compost and transplanted it.

Every year I pull up loads of the trees growing from them in my garden, planted by squirrels who forget where they are.Put them in soil and forget them, about 1 year they will shoot, hope you have a big garden.
