Why is it people always ask that- No offense but...............and than they go ahead anyways and ask a question that they know is offensive? Does this drive anyone else crazy?

Yes it does, if they didn't know that what their saying isn't offensive they wouldn't tell you, "No offense intended".

It really depends on the question though. I've often begun a statement or question with that. Because we are all individuals, what may offend me doesn't mean it will surely offend you. So if I'm not sure how the statement or question could be taken, I will say something along the lines of "i hope you don't take offense to this", before I say anything else. In my opinion, it's actually showing sensitivity toward the other party. It shows that I don't want to offend you, but I'm worried that the way I communicate to you might. One of my favorite saying is... When you assume you make an as* out of you and me. (as*-u-me). Anyway, to assume that they know they will offend you, falls into this same catagory. Good luck, and relax. Not everyone is out to get you.

No offense...however you're no longer a surgeon and i will be able to drink my two sodas...... I love this! It is sooo precise. This has been from approximately 50% of everybody. Then the opposite 50% of persons are pronouncing that it would not harm something to have ONE beer or ONE glass of wine. Seriously? I are not able to drink a Coke despite the fact that? Why danger it? No offense...however "OMG! You're getting giant!" IS NOT...I repeat...IS NOT a praise. I'm all stomach and good mindful of the way massive I am.... Not simply that, however the individual I get this from essentially the most IS FAT. She constantly appears at me and says "I are not able to feel how massive your stomach is." I wish to mention "I are not able to feel how massive yours is both, particularly not to have a BABY in it." The one I need to upload: No offense...however "You're no longer letting this being pregnant sluggish you down in any respect, are you" makes you sound like a fata$$, no longer me. The most effective factor that's going to sluggish me down is my surgeon. So if I wish to move kayaking at 25 weeks - I will. If I wish to move four hours away to buy the day, and are available house - I will. If I wish to support my husband construct the deck - I will. Just for the reason that you are lazy and fats every day, doesn't suggest I'm going to be for the reason that I have an excuse.

Offensive questions do not drive me crazy! I guess different people would have different reasons for asking offensive questions!

yea, i thought you were going to ask one of those dumbass questions too lol. people say "no offense" first just so they dont look like theyre being offensive, but it actually makes it look worse. if they didnt know it was going to be offensive then they wouldnt have pointed out that someone else could take offense to it.

This is what people do when something they say could be offensive to people but they need or want to ask something anyway this does not annoy me maybe you should be more tolerant of people.

No not for me. It's an aplogy in advance in case it offends you. They are usually reference to soemone or something else and isn't sure how you will take it.
Americans are the apologic people on earth(especially in the south, where i'v e heard notherners complain or make fun of us for saying thank you so often), and honestly try to expalin everything politically straight these days.

I hate this too---by saying this prior to their offensive statement, they try to curb their own "guilt factor." However, the statement seems to always come across the same---OFFENSIVE! You reply, "No offense as well, but, I still find your statement offensive---have a great day."
