Hey, so do I and I was looking for embossed tin for making a backsplash in my kitchen. I saw this on a design show and it was very cool. I found tin tiles downtown Toronto that I could use and it would be a lot less expensive than getting someone to tile. I could do it myself.

There are tin-looking ceiling tiles at Rona or Home Depot but there is also wallpaper that is equally convincing and not as big a job. Last time I looked at Rona they were sold out of the wallpaper.

You can get a wallpaper that is embossed to achieve that look. I have seen it at some of the large home building stores like Lowes and Home Depot. I work right across the street from the oldest tin ceiling manufacturer still in business in the USA. They are W. F. Norman, Co., and they have some beautiful tiles. http://www.wfnorman.com/ I do know that putting up any type of metal can be dangerous if you do any cutting. The edges can be quite sharp.

You can paint it in silver and then lightly drag a dry brush through to make each square while the paint with glaze is still wet. You could use a rubber stamp to make the center design. You need to use the paint alone in the center design so it will show well. Hope this helps. There is a product that can be put on appliances to make them match stainless steel. It comes on rolls and in sheets.I saw a decor show where they put it on a refridge to match a stove. Also for the backsplash around the cabinets.Best wishes.

You have two other options that I kno of. First, severl manufactureres have faux finish paints that simulate different metallic surfaces. The second one you should consider is aluminum flashing. It's cheap, it's real metal, it comes in a roll and you can cut it and bend it however you desire. I have used flashing and the faux finishes several times. It just depends on how realistic you want it to look.
