It means he wants to know if you can cook. He is interested in you and he wants to know if he will get a home cooked meal throughout the relationship.

interesting, lol I guess he asking you whether you can play the wife role. There's a saying "A way to a mans heart is to his stomach" so maybe he wants to know if you can take on that role
